Apple is preparing to take the wraps off its heavily-updated MacBook Air, its poshest laptop which hasn’t really seen significant improvement since introduction.
The new model will feature an 11.6-inch display and an Intel Core i-series ultra-low voltage processor, Digitimes tells us. The new MacBook Air is expected to reach us in the second half of 2010, at about the same time as the new model of iPod touch.
The new model will be slimmer and lighter even than before, presumably attracting reasonably affluent mobile workers who chose the original MacBook Air for the same reason.
The report also confirms previous claims that the iPod touch will carry a camera, a 3-megapixel CCD, which we've heard as well. Other publications have said it would carry a 5-megapixel camera, as used in the iPhone.
Apple isn’t expected huge sales of the MacBook Air, targeting 400,000 units in 2010. iPod touch shipments are pegged for 17-18 million, the report said.
Both models will be manufactured by Quanta Computer, the report claims.
